LIVEBUY, Bild.de & MediaMarkt team up to create the biggest unboxing campaign Germany has ever seen. It's video shopping in a new way!
It's Christmastime, and while all the good kids are looking forward to open up their presents, LIVEBUY, Bild.de & MediaMarkt have another thing up their sleeves! It's video-based, it's user-generated, and it's trending!
Since the first of December, MediaMarkt has launched a Christmas-shopping campaign, aiming at continuously publishing unboxing videos until Christmas day. Content creators from different demographics have started using the LIVEBUY Creator App to produce Clips featuring products from MediaMarkt's collection. The campaign portrays these talented creators unboxing their favorite MediaMarkt products, and portraying them as great Christmas presents. To accelerate the campaign and generate more reach, MediaMarkt has partnered up with Europe's leading online media publisher Bild.de. BILD has entered the LIVE/Video shopping world, by acting as a publisher that broadcasts shoppable content from different retailers. That's what we call video shopping at its best!
One of the reasons behind the success of this campaign is the fact that the content is flowing in on a daily basis, with the creators not having to worry about setting up a studio or taking acting classes before uploading a clip. In order to achieve that, MediaMarkt outsourced their production initiative and put it in the hands of trustworthy, authentic, and likeable content creators. This gives them the liberty to produce video content in their own time and in the comfort of their own homes. The user generated strategy removes the production pressure from the creators, as well as the investment pressure from the retailer.
This unboxing campaign, being a first of its kind, and a novelty for German shoppers, has already brought forth outstanding results, attracting around 40,000 Christmas shoppers within the first few days of its launch. As we've mentioned in a past article, user-generated content is the smartest way to approach the future in retail, and this campaign proves that statement.
MediaMarkt, Bild.de and LIVEBUY have stolen Christmas this year, next year it can be you! One thing's for sure, Christmas shopping will never be the same.
